From my earliest studies of economics, the behavioral aspects of economics have really engaged me. How do people/firms respond to incentives? If we better understand the incentives that people face, we can better predict their behavior and form appropriate policies to achieve societal goals. Economics provides us with a rigorous framework to analyze issues.

Like all studies, economics requires you to discipline your mind in how you approach a problem. This takes work and I seek to provide a variety of experiences in and out of class for students to develop their thinking. Gaining new insights, whether through a better understanding of observed phenomenon or via a challenge to existing policies or ways of conducting business, is the reward for them and for me.
