Listed below are links to many of the Ursinus Environmental Studies Program’s friends and collaborators.The Ursinus Biology Department runs exceptional field-based programs for biology and environmental science students in Costa Rica and Mexico. For more information, click here. You can also visit the Ursinus Biology Department home page. Ursinus students work with local organizations on applied conservation projects. Among the organizations our students have worked with are the following: Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy Montgomery County Conservation District Montgomery County Planning Commission Other organizations whose work we support include Pennsylvania Resources Council Recycling Services, Inc. (Pottstown Recycling Center) There are a number of excellent nature centers near Ursinus, including: Wissahickon Environmental Center The Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy also runs award-winning nature education programs. Southeastern Pennsylvania is also a center for activity in sustainable agriculture. Among the many local community and organic farms and farm stores are Charlestown Farm (a local community-supported CSA) Hillside Farms (wonderful local organic bison farm, with a store and full-menu upscale restaurant) Seven Stars Farm (a local biodynamic dairy farm that makes yogurt that is out of this world!) Willow Creek Orchards (incredible locally-grown and organic food store and home to many pick-your-own options throughout the growing year)
