Regina Smith Oboler, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Sociology; B.A., Antioch College; Ph.D., Temple University. Dr. Oboler is a cultural anthropologist who has done considerable research on African pastoralist and semi-pastoralist adaptations (including articles on Africa and Human Ecology). She teaches Peoples and Their Environments, a course on the cultural ecology of traditional peoples. She is also an ethnographer of the contemporary Pagan spirituality movement, and has researched and written about the commitment of members of these religions to pro-environmental beliefs and practices. She has a further interest in Ecofeminist theory, and has included a unit about it in her Introduction to Women’s Studies course. |
