Standard 7

            Institutional Assessment        
           
The institution has developed and implemented an assessment plan and process that evaluates    its overall effectiveness in: achieving its mission and goals; implementing planning, resource allocation, and institutional renewal processes; using institutional resources efficiently, providing leadership and governance; providing administrative structures and services; demonstrating institutional integrity; and assuring that institutional processes and resources support appropriate learning and other outcomes for its students and graduates.

Fundamental Elements of Institutional Assessment

Relative to this standard, an accredited institution is characterized by

bullet

a foundation in the institutions mission, goals, and objectives (7FE1 Data)

bullet

systematic and thorough use of multiple qualitative and/or quantitative measures, which maximize the use of existing (7FE2 Data)

bullet

evaluative approaches that yield results that are useful in institutional planning, resource allocation, and renewal data and information (7FE3 Data)

bullet

realistic goals and a timetable, supported by appropriate investment of institutional resources (7FE4 Data)

bullet

periodic evaluation of the effectiveness and comprehensiveness of the institution's assessment plan; (7FE5 Data)

bullet

a written assessment plan and process, that meet the following criteria: (7FE6 Data)

bullet

 use of assessment results to improve and gain efficiencies in administrative services and processes, including activities specific to the institutions mission (e.g. service, outreach, research); (7FE7 Data)

bullet

a written institutional (strategic) plan that reflects consideration of data from assessment. (7FE8 Data)
