![]() Ursinus College & the RegionThe 2006 Newsweek Kaplan College Guide singled out Ursinus as one of America's Hottest 25 colleges, in recognition of its distinctive first-year program, including the Common Intellectual Experience seminar. Ursinus College is located approximately 45 minutes northwest of Philadelphia in Montgomery County Pennsylvania in a suburban setting. Founded in 1869, the mission of Ursinus is to enable students to become independent, responsible, and thoughtful individuals through a program of liberal education. That education prepares them to live creatively and usefully, and to provide leadership for their society in an interdependent world. We have 1,580 students from 25 states and 15 countries. 9% of the students are African American, 3% Latino, and 4% are international students. The student/faculty ratio is 12:1. Biology, Business & Economics, and English are the three majors with the most students.
