Upcoming Shows

A schedule of the events open to the community follows:

February 27 – 29 and Mar. 1: The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard
Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm
Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center Black Box Theater
Tickets: $5 general admission / $2 students & senior citizens
Info and reservations: 610-409-3795

In The Real Inspector Hound, playwright Tom Stoppard ingeniously turns the murder mystery on its head, creating a farcical gem where the wall between stage and audience is broken down. Moon and Birdboot, two drama critics, each preoccupied with his professional status and personal dissatisfaction, go to the theater to see a new thriller. By accident, they become involved in the action of the play, causing a series of events that parallel what they are watching. This wonderful comic parody of whodunits is sure to delight both audiences and critics alike!

March 27 – 28: Escape Velocity
Thursday and Friday at 7:30 pm
Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center Black Box Theater
Tickets: $5 general admission / $2 students & senior citizens
Info and reservations: 610-409-3795

So come on out and watch as we “Escape Velocity” through various forms of dance. It’s a show that you don’t want to miss!

April 9 – 12: Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel
Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm
Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center Lenfest Theater
Tickets: $5 general admission / $2 students & senior citizens
Info and reservations: 610-409-3795

Michael, the narrator of the memory play, Dancing at Lughnasa, which is set in the '30s, recounts the life of his mother and her sisters shortly before dire conditions in their semi-rural community force them to disband. He recalls not only the love that kept the family together long after such conditions in their fictional, impoverished Irish household set upon them, but he also remembers the final events that tore them asunder. The narrative celebrates love as the source of human bonding, even as the representation of the material conditions make love's fragility all too apparent.

April 17 - 19: Breakaway Student Productions
Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 pm
Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center Rehearsal Studio
Tickets: $2.00 general admission
Info and reservations: 610-409-3795

This production has been produced, directed, designed and performed by Ursinus Students. It is Breakaway's goal to develop a community that is both fully committed to the development of theatre and live arts on campus but also in life.
